Old Map
I have a very rare old map that I was thinking of putting on my website for public view. It's a big map like the size of a typical fold-up driving map, but like all maps the interesting things are in the small details. I wanted people's opinions on the best way to put the map on my website, without making it an overly consuming production.
a) I could make one large jpg (1000px) image-mapped into sections which link to similarly large close-ups of each section.
b) I could make it a pdf but since it's all image and no typed text, I figure that would be a pretty big file
c) Something else?
This isn't even that important to me so I don't want to do anything special, but I still thought that others may be interested so I may do this in my spare time. Any simple advice?

Your first option sounds good
I'd probably go with that one.

I'd probably do the first one, but do Mapquest-like arrows, so they can navigate directly from one zoomed in section to the one north, south, east or west of it.
Does that make sense?

Yes, it does.
