Newb having trouble with FTP

OK, so I have never used FTP to upload files before, ive primarily used free hosts in the past so anyways....i downloaded bulletproof FTP and logged in. I uploaded files from my computer to the /httpdocs/ directory. Now, I have no idea why I am not seeing these files from the File Manager in the control panel of regular http..

Is there something i need to do?...like make a directory path? im pretty clueless and tried googling a possible solution to no avail. Any help appreciated Cool

you should upload it in public_html folder...
