Need Features For Forum
Hi all (Not sure if this is correct place to post)
I have a forum (here) and have stiff competition (here).
I am persevering though, and although I already have about 16 users (I advertised yesterday) I need more. Ideally I would like loads and loads of features, to draw potential posters.
Please can you post your thoughts here:
(most useful poster becomes moderator on my forums)

You can easily get visitors by hosting a contest - small or large. I'm guessing that's what you mean? You want to flood your user's database with some active users? Make them posts, and once they reach a certain post count, they can enter themselves in a thread, which will be a contest.
Or you can simply advertise your site. I know a really good way. I mean REALLY good way. PM me for details.

I've found word of mouth to work best for me. I'm also doing a Google AdWords campaign which is helping as well.
Just give it time, and be patient. Hard lessons I had to learn myself.

I think the problem is that there's nothing there to talk about. The list of topics reads like a site navigation menu, not like a forum index. Tutorials, for example, could become Customizing Firefox. People might have something to say about that.
This is another one of the big mistakes people make when creating forums - people won't post if there's nothing to talk about!
