Maybe some help with 1 site...
Just hoping I can get help with 1 of my sites... which can be found at the following location by clicking the "X"---> X
Well anyway here was my FIRST original idea for use with the domain MogiWaiWai! I was simply going to make it a Humor site/Original Joke Site/Maybe add some games... you know another site like KillSomeTime.com or ImBored.com.
Now my SECOND idea is actually where the name MogiWaiWai came from, which wasn't much but me and a friend chillin and smoking. We originally thought MogiWaiWai could visit places and rate them... which could also work into like "Product Reviews" maybe?
Now my THIRD idea for use of this domain name came from me and my g/f and our latest addition to the family. Which I named Gizmo MogiWaiWai so I could if wanted to... make this site a start of my breeding dogs profesionally. You know start the site with our latest pup Gizmo so I could claim why the site was named so weird.
Well hopefully I would get some imput soon and if your kinda confused now by me spitting out all my ideas at you. Remember I am asking for guidance on which direction might be best to take this site...

I like the second idea better. MogiWaiWai could be a yoda type guru character. There are a lot of sites that gather information about stuff but there's room for more
Were you thinking about sort of a travel information site? Another idea would be to have a user built travel information site. It would have to be easy for people to add information and opinions - sort of like a wiki. You could keep it to a certain niche like the type of travel (cheap, luxury, camping, adventure etc.) or the geographic area. I don't know if something like this exists or not - it should!
Good luck with it!

Well if your talking about Software like phpNuke and so on... yeah I tried it. I don't like the huge "blah.php?239473409873sid" type url and was looking for one that used PHP coding but output and nav was html format...
Have a suggestion?

No, I was thinking more about the user built content sites that are popping up these days. You could even go with a wiki format - that's what I did for my new site and it works well for me, even though it's not a traditional wiki. Ideally you'd develop your own system where users could post their travel tips.

if you want cleaner urls use some htaccess for that incase your CMS outputs lousy url links... but if you prefer something you dont want to put your fingers on the htaccess file, then theres a bunch of CMS with validated outputs and SE friendly urls... try check them out at opensourcecms.com...

Thanks Demon for that info also... I guess I rather look for the program on that site you mentioned. Do you have a name of a good stable one that works nice? cause I really dont think I wanna start messing with the .htaccess files or w/e yet

Well nice site Megan... well wouldn't phpNuke be the same thing as users can post information, downloads and so on? Just remove and restrict some of the Modules that come with it and heck editing the Modules by file was pretty simple to me since all I had to do was Modify existin code.
After viewing your site I might try that system... it is the MediaWiki on the bot right? or I might just go back with phpNuke and deal with the long weird url... but I'm sure someone is offering a guide about changing that

I can suggest 3 at the moment,
-WordPress. Can have validation if required, is indexed pretty decently...
-drupal, pretty good cms, needs some tweak to make it validate, although pretty indexable I recommend...
-cmsimple, you can make it validate purposedly, make cleaner URLS, and indexable too...

Well real quick question... if anyone has experience with phpNuke. How far can I take it down? I mean what Modules HAVE to stay? or can they all be removed and then when see fit re-uploaded?

If you're mainly using the news module, you can really strip out everything but News, Feedback, Stories_Archive, Submit_News, Topics and Your_Account. I believe those are the only ones that all tie together that are necessary. Of course, you could do some tweaking of the programs and remove references from those to each other, but those are all interdependant to a degree.
You probably already know this, but what you're doing is a really good idea. PHPNuke gets a bad rep as being hackable, but it's really because people don't take the precautions like you're doing of removing modules they aren't using. Other security precacutions include renaming your admin module's file name and setting the unique site key.

Well hopefully the plan with phpNuke will be a good idea afterall... now to the haking... naw I don't care. None of my site's are really that important and can be re-uploaded in no time. I see no reason for any of my site's to be attacked cause I am not doing stuff to piss others off... and my site jus don't seem interesting enough to hack hahahaha
