Making customer pages
Hi, I am trying to work out how to do 'customer pages.....
The idea is to have a secure section on my website that customers can log in to and see their own page (a bit like ebay or amazon does)
i have worked out the login bit and the target pages using php but the system I am using is based on seperate links for each customer which I feel is a bit messy.
The question is how do I work it so a login directs to the page I want?
By the way I'm not that good and still on a steep learning curve, but can understand most things with enough time, ideally a database connection for customer data would be ideal but not important yet.

I bet you need a CMS with a users manager and db... Depends of what type of site you have, you can find several free cms if you search around. However you can always hire someone to custom code it for you. But I suggest the latter.

If you want more of a community type site like myspace or friendster then phpizabi might work for your needs...

Well, after a customer logs in, it'll associate the username with a unique id.. that unique id can be the url... or something similar. I'd say try designing the layout like googles homepages for people.. im sure they've done quite a bit of testing and it works out well for them.
