loading video quicker

Hi I have embedded a video on to my site, I was wondering if there is a tag or java script that I can use to speed up the loading of the vid

I was thinking along the lines of the preload script you can use for images.

Is the video not shown when the page loads then? Image pre-load scripts are only used when images are shown by some event handler (e.g. the user moves the mouse over a menu item).

If the video is displayed immediately, then the answer is: 'no'. If it's displayed when the user clicks a link (or on some other event), we can look at possible solutions then.

My only other suggestion is that you reduce the size of the video.
