You should't put dark text an dark background, it's hard to read. Also, a graphical logo would suit the site, right now it is a little bit dull. Otherwise nice.

Yes, I think you need a logo, and you might also want to consider removing the hit counter at the bottom, as they're a little passe.

You can track your hits via cpanel tools such as awstats, so there's no reason to have them on your homepage...

Try putting things in tables and using some images (for design). Your site is very plain and lacks design.

I think the thing that would help the most is to put things in tables like andyy15 said. I would also go with an invisible or at least a more obscure counter at the bottom of the page. Maybe it's just me, but I don't really like the look of those big visitor counters.
Also on the big image you click to go to the forums... I would crop out the windows taskbar and stuff like that if I were you.

I kinda like the colors you used, but try centering the text that's on the main page... it bugs me when stuff isn't aligned right. Cool dog!
