Javascript Qu
Hey all,
I have recently started programming using java and was wondering how to change the homepage of the user of your site without a prompt. I know it is possible because I have seen it done but do not know how. Please help me do this.
Thanks in advance

Welcome to TWF, mastermind.
Are you learning Java or JavaScript?
Anywhoo... I consider that immoral. So my lips are sealed.

Hi Mastermind,
That is generally considered an unacceptable practice- we might be able to help you if you wanted to provide a link the user could click to make your site his/her home page, but setting a user's home page without asking is, as Mark said, "immoral".

I agree that it is wrong to do it without the visitor agreeing to it by actually making an informed choice. If I went to a site that did that I'd change it back to what I wanted and then never return to that site again!

You were able to do this on Internet Explorers up to version 5.5. Versions 5.51 and above fixed this bug.

And let other ones in. Sorry, just couldn't resist taking a swipe at IE6's insecurity.
