IP address
Is there a way to find the IP address of a web site? I have a potential new client and they want to back up there old web site. They only had the password and username and not the IP address. Yes I have the URL and I have tried all different kinds of things - to no avail.
Can anyone help?
Brooke

Are you trying to download the site via ftp? Is this what you want the IP address for?
If you go to cmd.exe from your start menu (start > run > type in cmd > ok) you can then enter:
ping then the url and press enter, it will then connect to the site and show the IP address.

I got it!
Thanks for your help. Yeah - I am trying to download the old site so that they have it. They are worried that the designer will take it away.
Thanks again!

Have you actually downloaded it yet? If not and it's not a huge site you could always visit each page then save as, and copy it that way.
