when i enter some websites, they play music and show an intor, which is most probably done in flash.... How hard is it to
a)just play ,music
b)play music and a do an intro of colours and images Wink you know what i mean.

It's not hard to do a simple flash animation with music, no. It is harder to do it well, depending on how good your existing design skills are. It's also a challenge to work around download speed issues, especially if you're presenting music.

Just to add to what Megan's already said - make sure it is relevant & really required. Both Flash intros and embeded music have been over used in the past and to be honest I normally skip flash intros as I find most of them tedious and I just want to get into the site to get the information I'm there for and as for music, well I have my pc speakers turned off at all times!

I agree music is a pain in the butt, I to surf with speakers off.
If you do use flash, use a skip link
If you embed the music, give a stop option and don't have it looping
