Installing templates at FP

Hello Webland,

I just signed in a little while ago and can't find an area for this question so here goes; I just built a site with Front Page and put it online with a host. I bought a reseller package because I am designing some sites for charity and then I want to work with building sites commercially when I have the confidence to do a little more than just work with FP themes.

I have found a couple of templates that I wanted to play with but don't know how to ftp or bring them over to work with. I have tried drag and drop and copy and paste and ftp but the closest I have come is having the template come in pieces.

Another template I brought in was different when I put text into the buttons or anywhere, it just leaves a back background replacing waves.

The Host doesn't want to help me because I bought a lot of space for short money with the reseller package and I'm supposed to know what I'm doing. LOL

I have no idea how to build a site over at the Host Cpanel or whm or anything. I only know Mic.Word so Front Page is fairly easy to pick up but..

Firstly, welcome to TWF Smiling

I have never used templates or front page so I cannot tell you to do it but I will give you some advise - don't use FrontPage! It writes really bad code and you wont learn from it because it does things so badly. If you want to use a WYSIWYG editor then Dreamweaver is much better (although people will still say it's code is bloated) and the advantage is that you can design in split screen so you can actually see the code being put together and this will help you learn the coding. Also with DW there is a built in ftp client which will make life easier for you.

In the meantime someone else might be able to help you with your current problem.

Good luck
