Is IE 7 promoted by Google for free?
I want to upgrade my Internet Explorer to version 7. It was not possible to do it from MS website when I tried it. Now it is known that IE 7 is being promoted by Google freely through their websites just as they promote Firefox. Is this true? Can anyone give the links to IE7.

That's interesting that Google is promoting it. I guess it's a good way to get people to upgrade, but I always thought they were friendly with Firefox.
IE 7 is being promoted on the Yahoo front pgae (was just there to check my linkdomain:). They are advertising it as "the new, safer Internet Explorer 7 optimized for Yahoo!." I don't know if they have a special version there or not.
If you're designing web pages you really ought to keep your v. 6 installation for now, until you no longer need to test on that browser. IE 6 isn't going away anytime soon, unfortunately. If you want to run both at the same time search for "IE 7 as a standalone". I posted about that in this forum somewhere. Here's a link to that thread:

Edit: LOL - check out the screen you get when attempting to visit the Yahoo IE 7 page using Linux: http://downloads.yahoo.com/internetexplorer/download_blocked.php. "Sorry, your system does not meet the minimum requirements to install Internet Explorer 7." Darn, I'm mising out, aren't I? (Not).
