Sitting in my "anal of func" (thats what my schedule says) class today. (analysis of functions) I had a idea. I know many times before that I can write a web page that could solve a proublem. I have the skill just not the time. I could make a page that solve every proublem in the chapter. But by the time I wrote the script, debugged it and made it look nice enough to use we would of already been tested on it and the home work I could of cheeted on is already turned in.
So what if I did it any way and put it on the internet? How could I make money off it? I already know its a great way to advertise but I dont want to fill the whole thing up with ads. Sugestions?

Invent something like post-it notes or white-out (not suitable for PC screens).

If you do a search on money, and the rich and famous you'll find the simpliest things have been the key, look at actors, they just have to remember a few lines and get paid moon beams.
Any business needs a year or three of no profits before they become established and start earning their way, even a great invention has to pass the "that will never catch on" stage

The only way you'll make money is ads. plain and simple. I think that that website is immoral and possibly illegal so you'll have to figure out the opportunity cost there.

LOL, hold on now that is a far shot. I website that figures out math probelms is illegal. I guess we will have to take the TI-83 off the market dang kids program in that to make solving math problems a breeze. bja888 if you'd like free hosting I'd be more then happy to host you so atleast your guarenteed not to lose anythingg (well maybe the 8 dollar domain fee.)

Well that sounds much better. I guess there's nothing wrong with an online calculater. But good luck with the proposal that you put up. I've tried scripting problems to little success. And you'd better find an equilibrium price pronto, because if they think it's too expensive they won't do it and if they would have paid more but they see a low price, they won't buy if you increase your price.

This would be a good idea if it was more like a tutorial where you would point out where students might go wrong and how to go about solving the problem. "Help with homework" rather than "Cheat on your homework". If it was a good resource I think parents might pay to help their kids do better in school.

I do think, however, that Assassin is correct about the "possibly illegal" bit. You are talking about reproducing questions from a published textbook. That's their copyrighted material, you can't re-publish that and trying to make a profit from it. You could either try to get permission from the publisher or produce your own questions.

Thats not it. Its a totally diffrent idea if I wanted to help someone do their homework. Thats not the direction i want to go with this at all. They enter the proublem type, then it goes to that setting. They enter in the numbers then it desplayes how to solve it and the answer. I dont think its possable to do all types in a Algebra 2 book but I can do quite a few. Its compleatly self maintained. Just take the formulas in the bood and modify them so they can be done in a web setting.

Don't know...you could have some of the site content available for free (as a sample), and have some for subscription.

Very few fly by night internet ideas ever make money. That's why the dotcom bubble burst so quickly. Making money takes hard work and dedication. At the moment I'm working 18 hour days 6 days a week, have little time for fun and I'm permantley knackered but my business is making money. Only problem is I don't have time to spend it!
