.html or .htm?
What is the proper use of .html and .htm or is there a "proper" way to use these? What is the difference in the two?

Well, .htm came from back when, ol software wasnt able to validate extensions more then 3 letters long. (.exe, .dll, .cfg)
Html is just the newer version since windows. (no elaborate explanations)
I myself use .html, I think it looks better, then plane html when alot of web extensions are 4 letters, .php3, shtm.
Thats the scoupe.

Well, I use neither. I use SSI, so .shtml, and PHP, so .php. But I would normally use .html. There is really no reason anymore to use .htm.

Hi there,
In the early age of computing, windows computing to be exact, there there only 3 letters allowed for extension note/type - like in case of win 3.1. Therefore, the web sites extension where limited to HTM instead of proper HTML. But, now using HTML is just preference of the designer - both ways are accepted and used by pros (if this is what you want to hear)
Have a good one.
Best Regards,
