How to use cgi script?

I am a new programmer and i have no clue how to set up my guest bood. I have all the html code but have no idea how to run a cgi script. If anyone knows where i could learn or has any advice, like im breaking the rules w/ this post then i thank you. but please tell me which rule im breaking.

i don't know about breaking rules but if you want some help you will have to give more details as what you want to do. Did you write the cgi yourself is giving you an error. there are a lot of opensource guestbook available at sourceforge.org maybe the readme from one of them could give you a hint.

k, that's not an url! How about telling us WHAT guestbook you're trying to set up, what features you have on your server, and giving us an url for the guestbook so we can see what errors are being generated?
