HELP, please?!I'm just starting my first web site.
Help! I'm just starting my first site. I have a good ftp server & I've uploaded my file to my site. My words are there but the first half of the site is in hypertext. I don't have any other program or software for the site yet. Please tell me what I need to get. I greatly appreciate it. I don't know much about this stuff yet.-Thank you:)

It wouuld really help us out if you could provide a link to the page you're having problems with. I'm not exactly sure what you're problem is here.

Read your code, you may have a extra "<". Provide a link that would be best indeed.

Looks like you have some script in there and you uploaded the file in "binary". Select "ascii" in your ftp while uploading files except for some image files. Try uplaoding the file again in ascii.
If you need any extensive help you get a quote for your project for free from one of the programmers, at our site.
Good Luck!

Copy and paste code below.
Don't know if this will help or not but I thought it worth a try to at least get you started. Maybe some other generous soul will make you some tables. Keep in mind if you do use this that it really isn't what all you want you page to be. You need to learn about using tables for you layout...for example so that you can have your navigaion on the left side of the page and divide your text up into sections so that it won't be just a big page of words. I think there is a free editor that you can download. Maybe someone will post it here or give you some other suggestions. It looked to me that you had a lot of MS Word stuff in your page but don't hold me to this.
Good luck!

<blockquote>
<p> <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2" color="#000000">This
site is designed to give you comfort & encouragement in these
troubling times. You may have heard that Christians believe these
days we are living in are talked about in The Bible. I and many other
Christians have been at the place where we didn’t believe any
of this. The good thing is that any one can see for themselves by
looking in the book of Revelations. God didn’t tell us about
what was to come so that we would be frightened. As a matter of fact
He doesn’t want you to ever be afraid. If you trust Him, He will
never let you down. He told us so that we would turn from our bad
ways & follow Him. Where people tend to blame God is that He allows
things to happen. That’s because we all have trials to go through,
to make us stronger, more compassionate people. And without the bad,
we couldn’t appreciate the good. That’s not to say that
we will always suffer. Once His eternal plan is in place, there will
be no more suffering, no more evil in the world, or any where else.
God is the most patient being ever. Yet, even He can only tolerate
so much. However, thanks to His beautiful Grace, the only limit to
His patience is the limit of our own will. He loves us so much that
He wanted us to have a choice in who we would serve. He would never
force anyone to do anything. He does know what we will do in the future.
That is what dictates our fate, our willingness, or non-willingness
to walk upright & follow our Lord, Jesus Christ. He truly is The
Messiah, The True Son Of God. If it weren’t for Him dying for
us we would not exist. <i>“For God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall
not perish, but have everlasting life.”-John 3:16.</i></font></p>
<p> <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2" color="#000000">I
know, you probably think this is crazy cult-like stuff, right. First
of all, cults are simply false religions trying to imitate the one
true Religion of Christianity. Think I’m being discriminating?
That’s because the enemy has invented so many false faiths that
we simply are suppose to be. God IS truly The One true God. There
has NEVER been another. He really is our Creator. Ask yourself this,
how is The Bible the oldest book in the world? If it was false, wouldn’t
it have gone away like every other fad in the world? Here’s another
good one, if the ‘gods’ of others are real, why does everyone
pray to God when things are bad? The Bible is true. It’s a large
historical document, filled with the accounts of people from the time
before Jesus (Old Testament) to the times after Jesus (New Testament).
Jesus’ Words grace many of the pages in the New Testament, &
in some of The Old Testament as well. HE was there in the beginning
when God created everything. The next major thing to happen in the
prophetic timeline is The Rapture of Christ’s Church. That is
when Jesus will come to meet us in the sky. We are the generation
of Believers that will not die. We will be saved from the coming Tribulation,
from all of the suffering that’s about to take place. It is believed
that we only have a couple of years until all of this takes place.
When The Rapture occurs, every child on the planet is going to disappear,
along with every Christian who walks upright with Him. Ask yourself,
do you want to be here for what’s about to happen, or would you
prefer Heaven. It’s your choice. Thank you for taking the time
to read this message. If it has helped you in any way, please refer
a friend to this site. I and countless other Christians are praying
for you at least daily. </font> </p>

bless you. </font></p>
