hi..
i have seen people making their sites from their IP's .
example ,when i go to some site for redirects , lets say WEBSITE.cjb.net , i see the status bar with IP , not a site , like http://62.203.36.025/web/SOMETHING
i was wondering if i could do the same and if i can, what do i need.
i use HTML mostly then flash.
can someone explain

Every computer on the internet has an IP address. What you are seeing is their web hosts IP address.

There isn't a huge amount of point in making your site only accessible by IP as people will obviously have to know your IP to get to you. When someone type in your domain name, they resolve to your IP address...

The biggest reason for using a dedicated IP is when you need to install a secure certificate..

One way you can do this is with htaccess.
There is a tutorial at http://www.freewebmasterhelp.com/tutorials/htaccess/

Password protection is on page 3, but you'll want to read the other 2 pages first.

Hope that helps!

gotta finish redesigning my sites so I can show them again.

I've never used Abyss but it looks like your server is trying to comunicat on port 9999. Can you chnge in the settings to use port 80 the standard http port?
