Help with Forms PLEASE

I need help with forms, im new to this stuff and understand the basics and the design aspect of site building, i use dreamweaver. i have built my current site around using a form to gather info from customers i got a free script from my host cgiemail which is located in cgi-bin, but man its complicated instructions with it and i just cant get the thing to work, 10 days and numerouse emails back and forth with host it apears to me that they dont really understand. my site is hosted in a folder called public and the cgi-bin is in here, but last time i contacted them they said use the url public/cgi-sys/.... it doesnt exist. anyway ive given up can anyone give me an alternative option, not mailto: and one that i can create myt own forms and work easy ish.
