You can't prevent your site from Google Panda.
It is an update, practically an algorithm change, that is targeting especially content farms, making poor quality sites disappear from the top of the results pages.
If your site is such a content farm or generally a low quality one (with high % of duplicate content and low amount of original content), well, start changing it and aim for quality.
As scours said, if you feel like your site could be hit by Panda, start changing its content. Check out whether you have some duplicate content pages or low quality (keyword stuffed) pages on your site, replace them with unique high quality content.
If any page of your site has experienced a sudden dip in ranking but has original content, check out how was the user behavior with that page. Check what was the bounce rate, avg time on that page. A high bounce rate or low time on site indicates that your site was not able to cater the expected results. Add some useful information and resources on that page ( check with your competitors)
