For me, the best browser is Opera. Not only does it have a raft of very useful tools for web development built right in, but it also has the most complete and accurate implementation of CSS 2.1.
I am developing a new site at the moment, and have come across some annoying bugs in Firefox and Safari. We won't even mention the problem child from Redmond...
Of course, no complex engineering is free from flaws - ask NASA - but closely following lists like WSG and css-discuss I do notice the absence of reported bugs in Opera. It has not implemented much of CSS 3, however.
P.S. There are many other reasons I prefer Opera...

Holiday update: I'm excited about Safari now. Not only has it support for a range of CSS 3 and HTML5 goodies, and excellent developer tools, but also plug-ins that compare well with equivalents on Firefox. In its 64-bit incarnation it is also blazingly fast.
I use Chrome only for simple browsing. Operations that do not require the use of any plugins, tools, etc. It loads as a program and pages much faster than my Firefox (ver 3.0.17). I like the clean layout, too.
From a web user point of view - you see much more of the page this way. Besides that, it is a pile of crap.
It tends to crash sometimes, shows the div's in some sites with some weird overflow that misplaces all the blocks - imagine your wp-admin theme editor with a text box below the links list.
All I can say for Chrome is that it is fast, but unreliable.
For everything else besides the mentioned I have Firefox.
p.s. The loading time comparison I have done is with all the plugins of FF disabled.

I have used both. Seeing as Firefox is the elder of the two, I can see some improvement that could happen. It is hard for ME to change different web browsers, so that might be the problem for me. But I see that Firefox is quick. Of course depending on connection it will vary in quickness. I have also used Chrome though. It was not the greatest browser I have ever used so that it basically why I would stick with Firefox. I may not have given Chrome enough time, but really, I didn't like it for the time that I did give it.
I used to LOVE Firefox, now with chrome it feels kinda like a turtle, especially when it starts up. I just wish that all the add-ons for Firefox could be made available for chrome, or something like that. That is the only thing i miss.
wellll chrome is really fast and effective these days, but firefox has lot of great addons for webmasters so .......what is the best,,,,,just for surfing i guess chrome is going really well

I beg to differ jeanneluv, i think google chrome is great. I've never experienced crash times with chrome unlike firefox where if you cant update it to its latest version it freezes and crashes.
I use both browser, however google chrome not supporting some addons (my required) going faster then mozilla and mozilla supporting so many adons, some times also mozilla going slow due to adons.

Firefox is still on top specially for Add-On Compatibility in which both Google Chrome & Internet Explorer lacks. I've been using Firefox from 2004. Firefox Rocks!!!
i used both. Firefox and Chrome. I used google chrome in work because Chrome is the ultimate in fast browsing.

Sadly the Safari plug-in system only seems to work on Mac...
