Most people here pay for hosting, and don't use free servers. I'm afraid your best hope is to contact Geocities, perhaps through their support forums, if they have any.
Well then you're going to have to put up with some problems now and then, that's just the way it is. Definitely contact Geocities with any problems specific to their service. You might want to dig around the forums here, particularly in the site tools area, to see if others have recommended other free services. I don't know much about that, but I know that there have been some other sites that often come up with people ask for good free site hosting.
if u could be more spicific on how u can edit it , can u not access ur files? can u not upload? , can u not login? do changes not save? hard to help when we dont know the actual problem.
Besides which, there are lots of better free hosting deals than Geocities. I used to use them but got tired of the way you had to edit files, the banner on the side (which you CAN remove) and other stuff. Just look around. If your lucky, you might be able to get hosting from another site that isn't hosting oriented. Depends on the owner(s). I used to host people on anitrade.net before it expired since I didn't want them to suffer with bad hosts.
Climiq - Just took your advice, and not bad. I did have some problems with configuring my ftp client (eventually gave up and used there site management page), but all in all it seems like a great service. Thanks for the tip.
