Flash Idea...
Ok, so we are sitting here, my teammate at work has just finished laying out a site, that looks great in any browser, sigh, except IE...
Then it hits me, why doesn't firefox make a version that runs in flash?? LOL (or insert your favorite Standards friendly browser)
Wouldn't that be great? Just have your site check for IE, if so, launch a full page flash file with firefox rendering the site.... Yeah, would take up memory, but hell, just borrow from MS's apparant "if you waste it (memory), they will buy more"
Sigh, if we can't kill off IE, we should be able to do that at least...

Why would you need to launch Firefox?
If you sniff IE, then just feed the "full page flash file"
isn't that basically what you are proposing?
or you can use an IE specific stylesheet...

I heard somewhere that IE 8 is supposed to be released sometime in the first quarter of 2009 (? can anyone verify that ?). Just what we need - 3 versions of IE at the same time! Usage of IE6 on my sites is still hovering around 12%.

MS are also currently working on a new OS, Windows 7. They might want to sort out the last 2 they made and make them end-user friendly and actaully control third party software before rolling out yet another one full of bugs and weird issues that only people who can understand 0x98jh7 at server serial pool address bus register port 567 has encountered a stop break jump error
And now they will do the same with IE8? Or perhaps they are lowering their swords and shields and allowing their new browser to conform to W3C's advisements?
