you will need a ftp program in order to do this, or as some host have control panel that lets you do this. if not then look for programs like cuteftp or wsftp to connect to your webserver. I dont believe dreamweaver have that facility built in.

I was just looking in dreamweaver, and I didn't see anything for file permissions.

Using your hosting company's control panel or FTP would probably be your best bet. Telnet is another option, but not as easy for beginners.

What your going to do is once your login'ed to your hosting account via ftp your going to right click on the file you want to chmod and then set the permissions.

If you are using Firefox, you can also download the fireFTP extension which is another FTP program; gets all your FTPing stuff done pretty good.

There's a permissions extension available for dreamweaver in the dreamweaver exchange on macromedias website.
