Fetch API Request
I have no idea where to post this question
Fetch API Request has been showing up in my logs lately, last 4 days had 142 requests from it for the same page, 99% of the IP's are different but they all go to the same place on the site but doesn't appear to get anything else. the last bit of the request is the same "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0) Fetch API Request" with the bit before that being 304 - "-" or 200 8429 "-"
The page was a .php page with contents being included, now it's a .html page.
I did a search on google, most results where stat pages. On google did find a page mentioning the fetch() function (look liked Java) but didnt tell me anything.
Could this be a search tool, or program people have that does stuff?

From what I can tell its either a spidering robot using the MS IE API, specifically this guy: Jaring.my user agent
found that info here: http://www.netsys.com/cgi-bin/display_article.cgi?1193
Or it could be some sort of application using the IE API like a leech app or something. Perhaps Copernic or some other type of web app might be using it.
this might help too: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum39/241.htm
whats your normal hit rate? is 142 requests in 4 days a large spike?

hit rate is about normal, sites still newish so is still growing, the site or page this is hitting is a popular one, but am running a few sites on one name so is hard to sort exact numbers.
That second link you gave, the guestion was dated Nov 11, 2001 so I'm guessing its not a big thing.
Thanks for the info
