Effect Of Meta Description
Hello friends,
I have a question to you, if I change the meta description of any of my site, will it have any instant effect on ranking??
Some days ago I have changed the meta text of my website, and before the editing it was standing in top 10 of Google. But one of my SEO expert friend has told me that it will effect on ranking instantly. So I am confused and asked him is it positive or negative. He is also very much confused. At last I have decided to take help of you.
Please let me know your valuable suggestion. Reply soon, waiting for your reply.
Thanks...

As I know, Google do not give more attention to Meta tags (keywords and description) now. Google give more attention only to your contents.. But some search engine still give more attention to Meta tags..

The primary function of a meta description tag is to inform your customers that your company is to provide a concise but powerful. Meta description has no direct effect on ranking, but has a huge effect on the indirect effect on ranking.

Hello serah, you have told that meta has indirect effect on ranking. Will you please explain your point? I can guess, it can be the traffic factor, but other than that I can not imagine. Hope will have your reply soon.
Have a nice day.

Meta description do have effect on ranking, in some cases,, not that fast, .. some of the search engine go with them ,and give great importance to them, while in case of Google which don't give that much importance..

Some people (I do not want to refer to them as "SEO experts") say that meta tags do not matter, and there are people that say they do.
We can only assume that Google takes meta tags in consideration when ranking our site for keywords, I don't think anyone can prove this.
My opinion is, that despite all of this, all bases should be covered, just to be sure. Meta description might not have a huge affect on your ranking in serps, but if the searched keyword(s) appear in the title tag and description tag, they will most likely be bolded, and so the link to your site will be more visible in serps and attract more clicks.
In case you have a quality, acknowledged, solid website with a good reputation, then I don't think that changing some meta tags will have a big affect on your ranking in result pages.

Meta description is brief and concise description of the page. You can be 150 characters and the search engines ignored characters are more than 150. Each page of the site should have a unique description meta.
