E Commerce Help
I am starting a web site to sell items online. I would like to know what is the best way for a beginner to go, online store builder or find hosting with cart sytem. I am familiar with web design, but I would rather find a template. I would like something similar to http://www.store2003.com/demo/audio/. I am considering hosting from webmasters.com, they seem to have a reasonable package, any help would be appreciated.

I have used Miva to build a couple of stores which is a template system but not cheap. Now I use a custom asp script from my current hosting company.
How many products are you going to be selling?
Will it just be one currency?
Will you be shipping to more than one country?
Are you having automated credit card payement?

I've got a good e-commerce cgi script that will be available in about 2 months - if you can wait that long.

bjdea is that your header image? Because the woman seems to be cut out from an image and it makes her look a little bit like Quazimoto (Hunchback of Notre Dame). Just thought I'd mention it because I really like your layout but that woman disturbed me slightly. Anyways can't wait for the script to come out.

Webmistress, I plan on having around 50-75 products, only one currency and country for shipping (U.S.) to begin with, unsure about credit card payment, what are my options?

Another option you might consider is looking into Yahoo! stores. I have no idea how they work, but I have bought things from places like http://www.livewarehouse.com that uses Yahoo! to sell their stuff.
ATM, I have a "Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical Wheel USB & PS/2" in the mail. Cost $17.98 shipped from LiveWarehouse.

If you're just starting out, you should choose a low priced package that offers ecommerce, MIVA is a great ecommerce tool.
