Dreamweaver headache

Hello all,

I just joined this excellent forum today. I've monitored from afar until I finally decided to jump in.

I have a problem with my version of Dreamweaver 4.0 ( don't laugh all you MXers) that only recently cropped up. I have one site in particular that contains over 25,000 pages. ALL good content, no spam. As you can probably surmise I am heavily into automation using Libraries.

My dilemma arose when I made a change to the main library and attempted to update. It froze while "Loading link info from cache". I reasoned that since it was loading an enormous amount of links it would take awhile. This wasn't the case.

I restarted my PC. Again no joy. I turned to PC off. Results? .

I'm at a loss. Nothing in the Help menu addresses this. My fear is that I'm going to have to reinstall. Not that it's a big deal, it's just that I'm lazy and don't want to go thru the tedious process of recreating all those profiles. Do any of you have some advice on this matter?
