Does anyone read Digg?
I've just started reading the tech RSS news feeds at Digg. Well, actually, I started with the full RSS feed, quickly got overwhelmed by the sheer amount of content, and just signed up for the design one.
I was hoping that this would be a good source of news and thread fodder but I'm a little disappointed so far. I often find that the quality of highly "dugg" articles is quite low. It's a lot of content to sift through so maybe I'm just not finding the good stuff I've also been quite appalled by some of the comments - either dumb useless, or overly critcial. People really like to bash articles on there! I'd actually be worried if something I wrote got dugg. I haven't got time to go through all that anyway.
So do you use Digg? What do you think of it? How do you use it?

I like it - though I don't know what RSS feed means. I just go to the site.

Acadia - RSS is a syndication protocal. They're referred to as "feeds" because it feeds you little messages when something new comes up on the site you're subscribed to. It's basically like an email message telling you that something is new on the site, and including a summary of the article. You do need to have some software that can read RSS - Opera has this built-in, and IE 7 will as well when it comes out. I think you need a plugin for Firefox, and you can also get separate programs for it.
This is really great for sites you read a lot but don't want to have to continually monitor for new articles. I especially like it for blogs that don't get updated on a regular schedule. With RSS, I get a message whenever they add something new so I don't have to check every day.
To subscribe to an RSS feed, look for the little orange "RSS" or "feed" icon. It might also look like this. Click on it and your RSS application (if you have one installed) will set it up.
