Does anyone have their CIW certification?
Does anyone have their CIW Foundations / designer / administrator certification? If so, is it worth getting? I am currently waiting for my order for my CIW Foundations course to arrive in the mail (I ordered it from Smart Certify Direct) and I am wondering if it is worth my time and money.

I took the first class in the Site Designer Track. It was definitely not worth it. The class was something like $1500 and I really didn't learn much. Granted I already am knowledgeable in many of the areas but....
I also think the instructor played a large part in the "lack of learning" that went on. She would talk about nonsense and give the class WAY too much time to do all of the exercises. Flash was the one thing that I wanted to do and we didn't get to it until the second half of the last day of a week-long class! Good think work paid for that class!

Sounds like you got ripped off. Have you recieved your certification, and if so, does it help on resumes?

I didn't continue with the remainder of the classes - I think there are like 2-3 more for the certification...I'm sure it looks good on a resume but nothing beats actual work experience.

Ok... Well I am trying to get all of the CIW certifications starting from the foundations (turned out to be a waste of money since it really is the foundations and nothing more. I decided to go with the self paced course so hopefully I will have more luck with them than you did. I do have a little work experience (1.5 yrs), but I hope that this will also look good.
