Design fault?
Hi
My website seems to view diffferent in both IE8 & Firefox. I use Firefox as default and designed my site in that browser. Click on links below to see!
This is how I want my site to look.
In IE8 it looks different, please look at the photo in the left hand column, and the text is all different sizes.
Now it looks a mess
I was advised to change the photo size from 253px to 200px which granted has solved that problem but surely if the photo was to big in the first place it would have over-lapped on both browsers!
I'm new to web design and have limited knowledge hence why i'm here.
Any ideas what i'm doing wrong?

Just a random tip: http://imgur.com is better than Imageshack.
If you look closely, on Firefox, the image is disappearing under the border image. This will be because Firefox and IE use completely different rendering engines, Firefox's is probably closer to the actual HTML specifications, while IE8 is probably misbehaving (in some minor way).
It's hard to say, just looking at an image, what the problem with the text is. Could you post a link to the page here?

Thanks for the link.
The text looks different in Google Chrome too. The problem seems to be whatever software you're using to edit the pages, for example:
<p><span style="color: #97f83d;">
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Times New Roman;">Club Membership cost has now been set at £30.00 per year to include Husband/Wife/Spouse/Partner & children (under 18) Non vehicle owning membership has been set at £10.00 per year with the balance of £20.00 due upon purchase of an offroad vehicle. </span></span></p>
<p> </p>
</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">
<p><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></p>
</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"> </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"> </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Memberships will be valid from January to January regardless of which part of the year your membership is paid.If you join after June 30th a reduced membership is offered at £20.00 up to December 31st.</span></p>
Should be:
<p>Club Membership cost has now been set at £30.00 per year to include Husband/Wife/Spouse/Partner & children (under 18) Non vehicle owning membership has been set at £10.00 per year with the balance of £20.00 due upon purchase of an offroad vehicle.</p>
<p>Memberships will be valid from January to January regardless of which part of the year your membership is paid.If you join after June 30th a reduced membership is offered at £20.00 up to December 31st.</p>
If all the
style
and and<span>
tag cruft is removed, the text will have a consistent size.Hope this helps.

I used the built in software, so you just literally type like you do here & now. I never inputed any html as the software does it for you if that makes sense.
The software used was Mr Site
Thanks for your help, I'll have look into it & see if I can change it.

That's a bit of a bummer, since Mr Site seems to be including a lot of junk code.
It's not just that software though, nearly all site editors produce rubbish to some extent, to get by you really need to learn some basic HTML. Once you know that, you'll be able to fix any bugs in the site creation software yourself.
