css help needed

I am using GIF's with transparent backgrounds on a light colored section of my site. The problem I have is that in my css I have a:hover set to give links a dark blue background and it seems to do the same to my GIF's when I link other pages from them. Is there anyway to keep the hover effect on text links and not to have it on picture links ??

Thanks

I would assume the only way around this is to create a seperate class for the image links that has no hover.

And then set it to have just the pieces I want, including the hover, so that there are no accidental inheritances in some browsers.

yup!
