Hi Jennifer,
Welcome to TWF!
It depends on what rights you want to grant and reserve.
Many people are using the Creative Commons license to allow reuse of their property without relinquishing ownership.
I am not a lawyer, I cannot advise you on this or other types of copyright.
I think that posting a standard copyright such as "aPaddedCell © Copyright 2006-2008" (see the page footer) will give you some standard protections.

That document is more of a "privacy statement" and "terms of service"

Hi Jennifer.
If you need a copyright statement for your site, you should see a lawyer. Having said that, there's probably no reason you need a special page, is there a reason why you think you need this?
Copyright 2009 by Your site in your footer should be enough to tell people
Also:
indicates the people who wrote that site don't know much about copyright (not that I know much more, frankly). You can't declare future copyright, that's just daft.
Basically: if you need legal advice, get a lawyer. I don't think you really need to bother however.
a Padded Cell our articles site!

There's useful info on the use of copyright here - http://www.copyrightservice.co.uk/copyright/p03_copyright_notices
