.com and .net
will it make a big difference in traffic? I mean i'm not interested in traffic all that much. but the domain i want is already taken in .org and .com. but that makes me think maybe it's a good domain. will .net matter? (sorry not sure if this is the correct place to post this)

it's just an extension, .co.uk, .com.au and even .geek.xx are getting very popular now.
one wont get you more traffic over the other but some are easier to remember than others

actually...depending on your domain name, .com is your best bet to get type-ins (if you have a nice name, you'll get them). The .net won't get you the same result..
Also, people tend to forget the .net extension, and when they try to come back to your site might end up at the .com version..
I would just find another .com domain name if you are going for something to be remembered. If you are targeting a domain name for SEO, then I wouldn't worry about it.

IMHO, I don't think it really matters if its a .com or a .net.

It does matter some. People have a tendency to go to the .com first, no matter if you tell them that it is .net or .org. If it is a business, you really should own all 3, .com, .net, .org, park the .net and .org and point them to the .com. This covers all of the bases.
So it doesn't matter with Search Engines but it does matter with those that don't know what a search engine is.

I would say that the .com is the better choice. But I have used .net on a few sites and they get ranked about the same. Its all about what the customer may type, if they just remember your biz name they may type .com as a habit.
PS - Your not interested in traffic?? Come on we all want to be seen.
