CMS help for lyrics site

Okay, I Found you guys on google and hoped you could help. It doesn't appear to be the largest or most active forum,... but maybe it's the smatest.

I basically want to make my own lyrics website, except I have little coding knowledge, definately not enough to make my own.

I am tired of the slow loading, popup infested, add smothered websites. I want to make my own and make it better.

But I need a good CMS. I still want to follow the standard 26 pages with A, B, C, D, E, F....... as links and then once you click onto that, it gives you a list of say bands that begin with the letter A. Then if you click onto that, it will bring you to song titles. If you click on that, it will b ring you to the lyrics.

However, what I am realizing with alot of CMS out there, they dont have actual CONTENT submissions/user registrations. And if they do have content submissions, it doesn't have the sort of outline structure that I want.

And lets say maybe Panic! At the disco wasn't in the P group yet and someone did a song for th em, I want that name to be automatically added as a link in the P page.

There's got to me SOMETHING out there that can do this. Anyone know of anything?

Thanks,
zerk

It sounds like a CMS may be to much for what your doing, really you just need a very basic database.

user hits the letter p
database calls up everything starting with p

user enters content starting with p, automatically gets displayed next time someone clicks p - no sorting or mixing ...

I doubt you'd find something that fits your needs exactly, but as your coding is limited maybe look at script placs like hotscripts.com for a shopping cart script (to base it on) and get someone to remove the shop part of it out, although you never know you may find something that will work as is.

Welcome to the smartest forum around too btw Wink muhahaha

also you can check out the site of one of our friends here at TWF scriptwiki.org...

I thought of something creative today, why not use PHPLD, it is a link directory, you can modify it to do what you want... instead of its default categories, make it genre based... then on each genre you can make letter categories, or artists categories if you like... now instead of the listing for one of those categories, you could put the lyrics in there... maybe Ill try it myself... just a suggestion
