Choosing a Chat-Something new
Can anyone suggest a good chat to add to my site?
I've seen several suggestions for Java applets, but there are many drawbacks:
For example, I want a chat with the functions of IRC but not just text. Too many users in this area are using AO-Hell chatrooms and they are used to that. Personally, I don't like the HTML chats because they are usually boring and the refresh is annoying. the Java chats are fine but they use up system resources and load slow (and ugly). I tried looking for a script but it would have to be remotely hosted as my host does not allow chats. Perhaps someone could suggest a Flash based chat?

I don't have an answer but I just wanted to say thanks for reminding me! I'm supposed to be looking for a chat script but I keep forgetting. I don't necessarily need remotely hosted, but easy set-up would be nice.
Any help? I'll probably end up having to comb the script archives for something that's right for our site, but any recommendations would surely save me some time!

Thanks Megan. I like this place. This is the only place anyone answers your freakin' questions. What kind of chat were you looking for: java,HTML,flash,or IRC? WIth or without graphics? I've seen numerous and I could help. Just narrow it down a bit. Sorry, just remebered. Check this one out-seven-scripts.com
I wanted this one but it wouldn't install. A new version should be out this month.

Jeez, that guy needs to learn how to spell! Thanks for the links - I don't really care what format it's in as long as it works well.
