Will you take a few seconds and help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

I cannot access my IP or Domain. It times out.

However, the company that hosts the server say they can access the site.Confused

So, if you could copy & paste the following:

footballnflplayers.info

and

208.69.231.157

Please let me know where (what country / state) you are trying to access the IP and domain and if you got the
A communication error occurred: "Operation timed out"
or you if were able to access the site.

Thanks

Thanks Steve!

Here's the problem.

I have other domains and IPs with this host and they are all accessable except this one always times out and shows page cannot be displayed or cannot reach server.

I can only upload files through the control panel.

If I try to use a FTP engine it will time out

and the crazy thing is the other IPs and domains work fine and they are all on the same server.

... and the support team (in the U.S.) say the domain and IP are OK.

Anyone ever experience this or have any suggestions?

If you can't access a site, your best bet is to ping it (or attempt to) from another location. I have that tool available to the public for this purpose on two servers - one in Texas (http://www.pr0gr4mm3r.com/ping/), and the other in Indiana (http://www.home.wellsie.net/?Ping). That way, you can see how it resolved in different geographical locations, and weather or not accessing the site is a problem with your local computer or not.

Here are some other sites you can try it on:
http://www.dnsstuff.com/ (scroll down to the hostname tools)
http://network-tools.com/
http://www.all-nettools.com/toolbox

...Google can find even more available

If it's still not working on your local computer, fire up a command line window and type "ping www.footballnflplayers.info". If it doesn't resolve to the correct IP address, you will have to restart your computer or restart your local DNS service.

you could try adding your server ip to your XP host file

c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
(there is no file extension)

back it up before you change it just incase

so you would want to add something like

208.69.231.157 www.footballnflplayers.info'
IP then domain name, with at least one space inbetween them both

If you haven't changed any IP addresses/domain names or name servers etc within the last 3-4 days your area (locality) should have fully propagated the domain and IP

The best thing you can do along the lines of what pr0gr4mm3r suggested, is get someone near you to test the site
friends/family etc gotta be in the same town/city
If others can then you have a bad setting on your pc/ftp client etc
if they can't then you need to look into why it isn't resolving in your locality

I actually had the similar problem last week when all a sudden I cannot access my domian even though I can see everything else, went home after work got thru np, went back to work following day and it wasn't so I figure maybe it was something to do with my ISP blocking particular IP's.

After contacting them regarding the matter and they resetted a few setting and hey presto it works straight away, May or may not be what you are experiencing but may be it helps.
