Browsers used to view my site
I've been looking at my stats recently and I'm intrigued by the browser details. Approx 50% my visitors use IE of various flavours. Approx 25% use a mixture of safari, Firefox and 'other'(which i'm assuming covers Chrome) but a good quarter use: "Netscape (compatible)". What's this? Does this mean 25% of people are still using Netscape? or does AOL come under that? I have had enough trouble making the site look decent as it is without checking that dinosaurs can see it. If on the other hand 25% are still using Netscape, I'll have to revise my ideas and add yet another browser to my desktop for checking. Next, I'll add ramps to the home page so Babbage's Difference Engine can use the site.

Its mean 50% from total of your visitor, They always use IE browser for look your site, and 25% from total of your visitor, they use safari, ff, and so on. Because your server will capture where your visitor com from, what ip was used, browser..and many things you can find in your stats.

Some browsers still keep the name "Netscape"
for example, visiting http://www.w3schools.com/js/tryit.asp?filename=try_dom_navigator using Firefox will show the browser name is "Netscape"

That still doesn't explain what "other netscape compatible" means when Firefox is listed separately.
I've often wondered about this myself. It only comes up in certain web stat progrmas - our AW stats doesn't show this but the previous webstat program did.

Isn't it likely to be bots? Perhaps bad-bots.
The user agent is easily spoofed manually by visitors using some form of proxy, and of course on a server level by bots.
