Boredom
So I was bored yesterday evening, and I wrote this. I know this thing has a mathematical name to it. Does anybody know what this is called?

I think its called a map, but I'm not sure.
It might just be a 3-d grid or a plane even.

It looks like the graph of a rational inequality. Something like y = 1/x | x > 0. It also looks like the long tail curve (but not quite).

The fascinating part is that it's not a curve. That is graph is all with straight lines. If you increase the gap, you can see the pattern.

Ooh, I see. That's cool. But, yeah, I'm with greg, it's definitely a Curvy griddy thingy

That's pretty neat. If you can come up with that when you are bored (which would take me a long time to learn)...I wonder what you can come up when you are engaged lol. But I guess, as you were making the graph, the boredom faded.

Day two of tinkering. I was thinking that if I arranged and flipped the corners accordingly, it would form a perfect circle, but it doesn't.
You know you don't have a life when...

I can't tell if they do yet or not, but if all four arcs touched, wouldn't that make a circle? It may be that they are too parabolic to make a circle. I don't know for sure, but that sounded mathematical enough to count as a justification...
Ditto.

The arcs actually touch if I would take out the black borders. It flattens out as it gets to the edge which explains why it doesn't make a perfect circle.

Yes, and I have plenty of sites to write articles for, too...but there are times where you are tired of doing stuff that you have to and create something random.
