Blog Comment Spam
First off, I'm not necessarily looking for a solution on this, just trying to see if anyone else is running into this.
It seems that as of late, a number of websites I run that have blogs (including my own personal site) have seen a recent spike of comment spamming in the last month or so. This seems to be true regardless of the blogging software, but it's all on personally hosted blogging software. (ie not Blogger)
Anyone else running into this?

No, actually, mine has been great since I upgraded wordpress to the lastest version a few weeks ago. When I was on the old version I was getting so much that I had to go through all my posts and turn the comments off.
I'm not sure what settings I enabled in the new version though - maybe there is something I'm doing that is preventing the spam...
I'll cross my fingers and hope I don't all of a sudden get an onslaught of it!

I like Wordpress's ability to hold comments for moderation if they contain more than x number of links. It doesn't stop the spam (what can?) but it does prevent people from getting their links listed on your page! (I have it set to moderate if more than one link exists and it catches 99% of spam!).

Don't blogs have those number things so bots can't auto submit comments? I think they are called capthca (something like that). Do you use those on your blog, and you still get spam?

Captcha. And they're useless as a lot of spammers pay thirdworld people to submit the spam instead of using robots.
