Black background in NS 4.7 ???
The website I am working on shows a black background in NS4.7. It is fine in NS 6.2 and 7 as is in MIE. DOes it have something to do with the 'transparent' background in the style sheet? I tried to get it to conform to W3C standards but now it doesn't display correctly with NS4.7. Argh! Any help would be appreciated.

It's hard to tell. Do you have a link to the page?

Is it the body background that you are having trouble with or the background of your tables?

May be a stupid question but...
Have you defined a background colour?
A few browsers have the ability to set their own background colours if it finds none.

Netscape 4 doesn't handle transparent as a background colour at all well. Black it what it thinks is transparent, which isn't very helpful. I would recommend you prevent Netscape from seeing the background declaration at all (use the hide from Netscape 4 comment hack, or put the painful styles in @import).
