avi file compression
I want to know what's the best software out there to compress avi files to put on my web site. At present I am using Windows Media Encoder. Is there anything better, I find the quality in this lacking. I am going to stream the file.

Well, you could get a full video program like Sonic Foundry's Vegas Video or Adobe Premiere, they will give you a wide range of formats.
Personally I like wmv format the most, seems to have decent quality for compression. Xvid and divX are also both popular, but less so for streaming.
