Attention Windows Users: Need a favor
I'm working on an article listing commonly installed fonts on the three major operating systems. I'm having a little trouble with windows because I think there are some additional fonts that are very common but are not officially installed by Windows (they may be installed by other common applications though).
If you're on Windows and haven't installed a lot of extra fonts yourself I'd really appreciate it if you could send me a screenshot of your fonts folder. You can either upload it here as an attachment or send it to me as an attachment to [email protected]. It would be helpful to include which version you have (XP or Vista).
Or, if you have any information about which applications install which fonts (I have the list for Office '97), please do let me know. I have a suspicion that some Adobe applications install fonts as well but I haven't been able to find any details on that.

Running this command will allow users to send the directory contents to a text file, then copy the text or upload the file.
cd C:\Windows\Fonts
dir > C:\fonts.txt
Here's mine from WinXP Service Pack 2 w/ MS Office 2003

These are some of the fonts I'm wondering about - even if you could tell me if you have these installed that would be helpful:
Arial Rounded
Baskerville Old Face
Brush Script
Calisto MT
Century Schoolbook
Cooper Black
Goudy Old Style
Edwardian Script
Full Lucida Family (Lucida Sans, Lucida Handwriting, Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Fax)
Monotype Corsiva
TW Cen MT
Wide Latin

I have 1,177 fonts installed,. so I can't help. (I'm a fontaholic )
Is this going to be posted to A Padded Cell?
I'd LOVE to have a list because I know that the list of core fonts have grown, and it would be nice to be able to have more of a variety for web use. But I have not been able to find an updated listing.

Yes, it will be posted at A Padded Cell. I won't go into detail right now but it's a pretty exhaustive list of commonly available fonts on different operating systems.

Here on Win XP Pro SP2 I have no M$ Office stuff, but some Macromedia (MX suite).
None of those fonts you listed here. The only Lucida fonts I have are Lucida Console, Lucida Sans Regular, and Lucida Sans Unicode (all True Type).
Hope this helps. I did take screen shots (2). I could put them up on the web and give you a link, if you prefer.
(Gaaaah! Timed out again.)

Try this page:
http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/default.aspx
Has links to other OS's. Not sure how accurate these are though.

Here's mine. I'm running WinXP Media Center Edition SP2 2002 version.
The only font I've ever added is Starstruck, so the rest came with my computer.

At school here they all have 570 fonts. And they have all the ones you listed. Computers have CS3 and MS Office.

Thanks for all your feedback. It seems like we can depend on a significant proportion of Windows users having those extra fonts installed.
Greg - A few people have pointed out that site to me! It's helped out a lot. Now, if I could only get this article done!!

Here's one wide screenshot with everything on it. If you use it in the article, host it on your server . No need for a linkback or mention.
