Apart from PhpBB what forum?

Hi,

I've used PhpBB forum for years but spend far too much time updating it and fighting against spam bots. I wonder if there would be a free forum that would be much more simple to set up, use and update?

I also would like the new forum to be compatible with PhpBB database so that I do not lose all the users I have.

I'm looking for something like Wordpress, ie automatic updates and easy to use.
