Allowing users to upload videos??
Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with setting up something to upload videos. We are going to be running a video contest and want to allow the participants to uplaod their videos.
How would I go about setting up something like this? I've read a bit about red5 and ffmpeg but I'm really fuzzy on how I would set that up (and we don't have direct access to the server so it might not even be possible). I don't think we need to convert the videos on the server and display them right away. That's sort of a second-stage option. We'll be screening everything before it gets posted anyway, and I could convert them myself.
ETA: There are a bunch of scripts that seem to do this on Hotscripts (many do much more than we would need). Any pointers in that direction would be helpful as well.
Also, we don't want to tie into YouTube or any other third party service. We'd prefer to host our own videos if possible.
Thanks for any help!!

If you are going to review & convert the videos yourself, you can treat the video submission form just like a regular file upload. Then, after you convert them to flv format, you can show them in an flv player like FlowPlayer.
