What do you think about Acquia Drupal
Hey
I've found these by goggling and I do not know if it is good to be used or not?
This is the link: http://acquia.com/products-services/acquia-drupal
Please advise whether to use it or to stick to the original package released by Drupal and add these modules separately.

We have another thread about Acquia here:

Although more about the impact it could have on the Drupal project.
Are you talking about using the Acquia free version, without their paid services? That might make sense if you need most of the modules they include. That would make it easier to install & maintain. Otherwise you would probably be better off using regular Drupal and just adding the modules you need.

No, that's about a different issue. This thread is fine for your purpose. I just pointed that out because I thought it might be informative for you.

ok my friend ... I've read the other topic and it was really informative as you said, but the point now is that I am really confused about what could be the right thing to do.
Shall I use it or just use the original package for drupal and add the same modules manually? will it have the same result or there is something spacial about it?
Thanks

It's just the convenience of having all those modules in one package and you don't have to download & update separately. You could try it if you are using most of the modules they provide. Otherwise use standard Drupal and get the modules you neeed.
The result should be the same unless you're interested in some of Acquia's professional services.
