Monitor link clicks

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone uses a nice php link tracking script?

I'm looking for something which will track click-throughs and report back on the statistics.

For example;

* Create a unique tracking link that redirects to a specific URL
* Monitor impressions and unique clicks against the URL within certain date range stats.

That's pretty much it. We use OpenX for a different project but I don't want something that sophisticated for this. Any thoughts?

I've got a feeling Google analytics may be able to do it. But ive never used it for this before.

I had a co-op student develop something to do this but it never really worked properly. I do have a script called Mapsurface installed but that's no longer publicly avaialble.

CrazyEgg is another option, also remotely hosted.

Google Analytics does have a "site overlay" feature but I've never seen this actually working. I think it only tracks internal links.
