Flash banner link not working in IE6-7
Hi guys, long time no see .
Yes, I am back with a problem I think should be simple for you gurus to solve.
www.scamwatch.only-the-truth.com.
I have a flash banner just under the header called FAPS. I have it linked to a clickbank ref link. Now, everything works perfectly in Firfox3.0.4. But when I click the banner in IE6, it says undefined.
Also, the browser address bar displays
www.scamwatch.only-the-truth.com/undefined
after clicking the banner.
IE6 displays perfectly except the flash banner doesnt work when you click it.
IE7 doesnt display the website at all saying theres a database error.
FF3.0.4 works, but the top header displays to the right leaving a space to the left.
I tried so hard not to ask for help, like 6 months worth of figuring it out and giving up, till i remember this place.
Hope I can get some guidance once again from this place, that's saved me many times over.
Heres the code I used for the Flash banner.
<!-- F.A.P.S Banner -->
<table width="100%">
<tr>
<td align="center">
<div align="center">
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="728" height="90" id="FFF728" align="middle">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" />
<param name="movie" value="http://www.only-the-truth.com/flash/faps.swf" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" /> <embed src="http://www.only-the-truth.com/flash/faps.swf?sendDataLink=http://iq454.forexrobot.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=FOREX" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="728" height="90" name="FFF728" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /></object>
</div>
</td>
</tr>
</table>

Actually, the site does not display for me in IE7 or FFox3 - I get a database error:
In Opera, the flash does not activate as a link until it is clicked once, then on the second click it will open a new window.
I wonder about the mismatch between your param url and the embed url
In fact, the banner is apparrently hosted on a different domain

Its working on all browsers on another of my pcs. And my webhost confirmed it works on thiers also.
It has to be a setting in our computer that's giving us the error. Because it doesnt work on my laptop after installing internet cafe software (which I forgot about).
Also, the new SP3 and install of IE7 updates seemed to fix my header issue also, which is great.
Now just to fix my flash banner link.

Guess what?
Microsoft anticipated that we will occasionally need to reset IE7 to "original" default settings.
Just go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Reset
(Wipes history, cookies, bookmarks, everything)
I had to do this a couple of times when third-party apps (like your internet cafe software?) made IE unusable...

I tried that about 10 times few months back, also tried it a few days ago, didn't seem to fix it ..thanks for that though. I might have to format and reinstall, that internet cafe stuff really done me good. Has to be a service.
