ASP System for our project, need some suggestions...
Hi guys, this is my first post... I'm currently taking up Software Engineering, I'm already good in HTML and CSS, were taking up Javascript for this month(module) and will be going to take ASP by next module. Every sem, we will be proposing systems, application, or websites related to the languages that we have discussed. Last sem we have done a static website (HTML & CSS).
For this sem we're going to make a system using ASP and MS Access for our database. What kind of system can you suggest for a n00b like me? I'm a fast learner type of guy, after I finished self studying JS, I'll proceed to studying ASP. The phase of the lesson on our school is a bit slow thats why I need to study in advance for me to become much better...
ASP is like PHP right? They say they just differ in the syntax that is being used. Is it possible that I will get a nice OS PHP system in hotscript.com and convert it into ASP?
Thats all for now guys, I'm looking forward for your help... Thanks...

Yes, ASP handles many of the same functions as PHP with different syntax. Why not get a nice ASP script from hotscripts.com and customize it?
As a web developer, I can tell you that 90% of the time I am using off-the-shelf code that I may customize. However, I do not know if that is appropriate to your course, you may be expected to cook from scratch.
In terms of an ASP app have a look at the VP-ASP ecommerce cart
