Yeah, exactly. I went with a cheapie for the new project I'm working on and had some problems setting it up. The service was terrible.
I'm looking for a better registrar as well. I've got my other domains at goDaddy and I can't stand their interface. Could they try to sell me any more crap that I don't need? So much annoying clutter everywhere.
I use Godaddy. I used to use namecheap but I fowarded a domain to Sedo and when I tried to park it back at namecheap for some reason it wouldnt go back.

It was probably worth it back then when you could register premium names like 3 and 4 letter .com domains. Fix.com is being auctioned at Sedo and its up to $2,500,000.

Godaddy! Easy to keep your domain names organized. Once you get used to their interface you can easily by-pass all those extra offers...That is of course until they re-design again.
It's been awhile since I've used anyone else for registration...but I can say that Godaddy is nice and quick too. The domains are usually available within minutes of registering. Maybe that's how it is with all of them now...?
Ok, I'm the first to admit I know nothing about hosting but I need a place to host a website with shopping cart tools, etc. What do you think about HostMonster?
Thanks,
Terri

Registerfly and steadfast are quite good registrars.

namecheap is very good. Dunno about the best. But cheap domains need not mean good service.

GoDaddy.
I would have just posted the name but then mods would think I am spamming. So this line is just like that. Only name is enough. GoDaddy.

GoDaddy would be ok if they didn't have spam all over their user interface and help Microsoft in nefarious schemes to make their web server stats look better than they really are.
Any recommendations from me would look like spam, so I'll refrain from mentioning any companies!

Enom is great as well. And I easily got acquainted with their domain owner's area.
Cheap for me too at $7 per domain.
