Be careful when deciding on a host. Cheap is not always the best way to go. A couple of good things to look for: Make sure the host you decide to go with has a 30 day money back guarantee and toll free support with an actual person on the other end.

toll free support? CobraHosts, if I was signed with your company would you offer me toll free support? (remember I am in New Zealand).
A lot of hosts out source the ph service to places like India etc (that don't speak good english but are cheap)

Remember email is counted towards total disk space, so if you get 2mb of space and have a 2.5mb email attachment (or get lots of bounce backs with attachments) you'll exceed your limit which can result is extra fees

I have a free domain with phpBB, but it is very limited, it's easy to get around, and beginner friendly,
i would like something on the same lines, but up market, hope that makes sense

I tried to join one called iwebb, it was 139.89 Canadian$ for 1 year + 20 CAD to transfer my domain, it should have taken 24 hrs up to 48 over a week end, 4 days later nothing, they only started to communicate with me once i asked for my money back, they oferd me one month free Mad
I have been looking at CHIhost.com, Chicago, as anyone heard of them, or can someone suggest of a good one.
Confused
many thanks Heather

I've said this before... I love Hosting Matters.
Check them out for your needs. They are relatively inexpensive with great support and overall good folks. I have several sites there, I have never had any problems.
Again, connect with them about what you need and go from there.
( I am not affliated with them in any way!)
